Republicans Must ‘Hang Together’

Real life parties aren't like that. The Republican (and Democratic Party for that matter) are coalitions of interests not robots. You aren't going to get every Republican to agree with every leg of the triad. It just isn't going to happen. You start rejecting people because they aren't doctraine pure conservatives they will either stop voting or start voting Democrat. The only thing you realistically can do is to get as many votes for as many bills as you possibly can. You may even have to trade votes once in a while getting their vote for something you want that they don't want for voting for something they want that you don't want. Like it or not that is how democratic governments work.
The way this going to go down is that the house will simply refuse to vote any funds to implement it. No money = no enforcement.
I think a balanced budget is unlikely in a mere two years. Realistically they can get it closer to balance but I don't think they can actually balance it. Reducing taxes is probable while a vote on the repeal of Obamacare is a must.

I think that between the Republican House victory and the rejection of prop 23 California bonds will soon be reduced to junk bond status.

President Obama Still Doesn't Get It

Rubio has a shot but Palin is unelectable. Like it or not her negatives are too high and are unlikely to come down. Fair or not people still have the idea that she is stupid. She simply wasn't ready two years ago and like or not when people make up their minds they rarely change them. If she didn't have the baggage of two years ago I would agree with you.
Total partisanship is not a real option. The party will be handed its head if NOTHING gets down. There are things it can do and things it can't. It can (and has to given its platform) totally defund Obamacare, kill cap and trade once and for all, and roll back regulations. What it can't do is stop government dead. I would do the following things :1) Trade cuts in tax rates for the erasure of tax loopholes. Even if it is revenue neutral it will help the economy. Loopholes distort the economy by favoring one economic activity for another. 2) Wind down Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. 3) Start selling GM stock and get the government out of the auto business. The Democrats won't like the last two but will have to oppose things that the vast...

Repeal It Now!

John 3364 Wrote: Nov 03, 2010 9:57 PM
It isn't going to be repealed. The Democrats control both the White House and Senate. What can happen is a sort of "de facto" repeal by defunding it. I think that is the way it is going to happen. Obamacare will starve due to lack of funds.
You are using weasel words. What is the difference if you call it a fine or a penalty? you are still out $25,000! What is the difference between "no more" and "up to" when in either case you face a maximum of a year in jail?
Get off the deep end, there won't be a civil war and anyone dumb enough to try and start one will be in prison for the rest of his life, if not dead. There is a better answer to all this and that is to vote the people who back Obamacare out of office.
