Tort Reform: Remedy or Red Herring?

I think most of the "little guys" don't like the exorbitant percentages lawyers get from any award/settlement.

The one time I sought assistance regarding medical I was quoted 33% by one and 52% by another. Those figures did not reflect the cost of the lawyers time billing.

I finally just gave it up. I didn't have a few million dollars of pain and suffering and being a working stiff didn't have the money for the billing. Kid in college and all that.

Yep, I'm a right wing terrorist as I'm retired military with over 23 years continuous service.

Dang, I just thought I was an informed citizen and voter.

Just goes to think what's next...

I'll bet Atticus Finch read the classics before he got his law degree :-) .

If only parents and educators would require children to do something rather than take the easy way out, maybe they might be better off.
When will they ever learn to borrow a phrase? The same was true in RVN when I was there; too many of our guys were lost because of ROE. Same for cross border operations when the bad guys fled out to Laos, Cambodia et al as all was micro-managed from the WH.

Can't even call it a Global War on Terrorism (GWOT).

Nobel's Stockholm Syndrome

Upon further reflection after reading various liberal and conservative opinions regarding BO's nomination and winning subject prize, I think I should have been put in for the A&Ds with which I was awarded by the US Army on the day I graduated from flight school. Why not wear my uniform with all of them from day one? The Army should have known my "promise for the future" 12 days after my wings were pinned on.

It’s sorta funny that Alfred Nobel wanted to save the lives of miners when he discovered his far more stable explosive than those being used for mining and construction, back then. He was appalled that they were being used for other than industrial/peaceful purposes when the military started using them.

He founded the prize for noble reasons, as he felt he should atone for what he considered a prostitution of his discovery. And now the prize itself is being prostituted and used only for narrow political purposes.

I still believe that BO could not lead anyone out of a wet paper bag with holes in it. I’ve known real leaders in my life.

John,

I listened to the liberal station that died a few years ago (same for TV), just to keep up with their side. Finally decided to listen to other stations or the XM (and to soft rock) while travelling in the truck.

Lilly,

Pretty easy to vet what they say, called the internet, to which you obviously have access. Just requires doing so, which libs don't seem able to do.

Started working when I got my SSN at 15. I'm 63 now. Was able to stay employed, gain a college education, serve 23+ years in the military, be shot at.

Maybe Mr. Moore should have really worked his way up to his kind of fortune. Wife and I are happy to be able to pay the granddaughter's college tuition and burn some burgers on the grill out back.

The guy's out of touch...

My wife is an MSN, RN and ICU nurse. She provides direct care to her patients. Her hospital requires all employees to be vaccinated.

Her take is the risk of having a vaccination is not as risky as getting the flu and transmitting same to others.

Just recently the flu death of another infant was reported here in GA.
