"I lived there in the early 80's. When Domestic Steel went bellyup because on antiquated facilities and USWA Bravo Sierra, the USWA & UMWA had members vandalizing churches and picketing corporate offices. All 3 stations played it as Union Labor hitting back as BIG BUSINESS!"

I'm curious as to why you would expect different discourse in the American city known to be the home of staunch trade unionism. Would you be equally offended if Orange County, CA privatizes its county jail? Or do you simply expect anywhere you live to reflect your values the minute you move in? Its called regionalism, and its all of this great nation of ours.

"The key in the First Ammendment's right to assemble is the word "Peaceably." When you are simply causing havoc (vandalism, violence, general disturbance of the peace) you forfeit your right to assemble in that instance."

ABSOLUTELY WRONG. You can expect to be arrested for civil disobedience, but civil disobedience doesn't strip away your 1st Amendment rights. Its truly scary that so many Americans think fascism is built-in to our constitution.

Sorry to offend your oh-so-delicate sensibilities, but civil disobedience is inherently American. Showing up at political rallies where your president is speaking, armed and carrying signs saying "Time to Water the Tree of Liberty" (for those of you in the audience who never pick up a book, the completion of that historic statement is "With the Blood of Tyrants"... a not-so-indirect threat against the Presidents life) is just expressing free speech. Were any of these cretins charged with anything at all? Of course not... they're friends (read: tools) of the wealthy elite who own the police, and keep them on a very short leash like the pit bulls they are.

No one is afraid of you jackbooted thugs anymore, whether your weapon...

So, Olympic games are bad for the taxpayer, eh? Well, so are G20 summits. My city ponied up $16 million dollars to see our city turned into a fascist police state. Where was Malkin to trumpet what pickpockets of the populace the wealthiest amongst are? She's pond dredge.
