Everyone who is a net contributor (ie. a taxpayer) should be sent a bar code. On election day, you scan the bar code to enable you to vote. People who are takers from the system should not be allowed to vote. This includes corporate welfare bums. This does not deny anybody the right to vote... if you want to vote, all you need to do is become a producer, not a moocher.

You don't need religion to be a moral person, and indeed, many killings have been committed in the name of religion. A moral code that respects the rights of life, liberty and property of all is what's needed. No need for a "supernatural" component at all. Ayn Rand's Objectivism fills the bill. Check it out.

You are saying that if human nature were only different, then leftist policies would work. You cannot make human nature disappear by declaring it "illegal." This is what the left doesn't comprehend. Policies work when they are in tandem with human nature, harnessing that human drive for betterment of self and family. Dr. Sowell understands reality; you prefer to deny reality. You may be correct that the right loses the argument, but not because they're wrong. It's because there are more and more people divorced from reality. They don't know enough or don't think enough to realize that liberal policies are not suited to human, but to ants.
