I went to law school on the GI Bill and it covered my tuition as well as all my living expenses. Thanks! The reason a college degree is being discounted is a result of innate, immutable, universal Human Nature. Ie., women are now getting more than half of all college degrees. Human societies all follow a rule -- whateve women do is low-status; whatever men do is high status. Feminists, whose entire world-view is based on the Enlightenment fantasy that there is no such thing as Human Nature, Pursuing 'equality' with men is like chasing the horizon -- however fast you run, it remains out of reach. My personal view is that raising sports to the pinnacle of our society is undesirable. As long as women can't suit up for NFL, that'll be the fact.

Luckily, I did. I was admitted to George Washington University, which generously awarded me a grant covering the full cost of my tuition. To the best of my recollection, that sum was $2,400 in 1975, the year I entered GW. To pay for my other expenses there were several forms of need-based financial aid, and I received what is now called a Pell Grant and a subsidized work/study job on campus.

Adjusted for inflation, the $2,400 GW charged for tuition...
