It is extremely typical that Abe Lincoln would be number one. (It would take the South 120 years to recover from the War of Northern Aggression, while the North and the West, to a lesser extent, prospered.) I would not choose him to occupy the top spot. Ronald Reagan deserves that distinction. Number 2 would be George Washington. Number 3 would be Calvin Coolidge. Number 4 would be James Monroe. Number 5 would be Thomas Jefferson. Number 6 would be James Knox Polk. And, number 7 would be Dwight D. Eisenhower. Mr. Hawkins, until one of the future candidates for the GOP wins in 2012, I wouldn't count your chickens before they hatch.
