What Went Wrong Last Tuesday

Voter fraud seems ubiquitous.......that has been the downfall of conservativism and the growth of nothing less than Socialism.

The only downfall of conservatism is coming from the Republican party. They are no more conservative than the Democrats. The last true conservative candidate the Republicans fielded was Ronald Reagan. Since then, the party has given us nothing but liberals, from Bush, Sr. to Romney. The Republican elite does everything they can to stop true conservatives from getting the nomination. It's why, 4 years ago, I quit the Republican party and became an Independent. Until the Republicans give us conservative candidates, Democrats can run a pet rock and still win.

They started two wars and burned out the economy last time they were in power, but they still could have won against a president with 8% unemployment without the rape comments from Republicans already in office and the 47% comment which included a lot of active-duty servicement and retired people and the 'self-deportation' remark. It wasn't a landslide. It was partly demographics but it was also partly a poorly-run campaign and running a flip-flopping Massuchusetts politician. Republicans should have seen it coming.

With this I must agree.....will re-register as independent.

What is ubiquitous is suppression of voting by the elderly, minorities and college students.

How is that done, precisely? Oh, yeah- by asking those voting to prove they are who they claim to be with a photo ID- which roughly 98% of Americans already posses. And EVERY state makes them readily available for anyone who wants one, even waiving the usually modest fee for those unable to pay it.

Face it- anybody claiming that voter ID requirements suppress or disenfranchise is merely interested in leaving the door open for electoral chicanery.

Probably mostly the elderly, who are the core of the Republican base.

Thank you, Latebloomer.....

Disbelief is the word that defines the Republican state of mind in the wake of the 2012 re-election of President Barack Obama.

The obvious questions are: “How can Americans have re-elected a president who has presided over an economy where unemployment still hovers at 8 percent ?”

And, “How can Americans have re-elected a president who still doesn’t grasp that his big government policies are what have blocked our economic recovery?”

The Republican Party needs to take responsibility for this disaster.

Nothing in the outcome of this election is a surprise. The realities which produced these election results have...
