geezers comment has nothing to do with how numerically large union membership is. His comment concerned how corrupt the combination of union and Democrat politics is. You missed his point entirely and at the same time misunderstand WHY so many Republicans believe Unions should not exist. Personally, I think there are legitimate reasons why unions should exist (I believe a union trained employee is, or at least should be a better trained employee) but when unions become so corrupt that they dictate to the nation, dismantle the rights of others, coerce others into supporting them, mislead with deliberate lying campaign ads paid for by union dues collected by forcing people to pay dues, they have overstepped their usefulness, become a detriment to the nation and should be disbanded. What's happening in Chicago is very much a result of the relationship between unions and Democrats. To believe it is not is to bury ones head in the sand.
I guess the only statement in the entire article I disagree with is this one: "If Shamiya Adams were a blonde-haired, blue eyed 6th grader from Lincoln Park the National Guard would be called out to fix the problem. " Frankly, I suspect that if Shamya Adams were a blond-haired, blue eyed 6th grader from Lincoln Park, no body outside Chicago would have ever heard her name and believing the national guard would be called out over her is ludicrous. I realize that no single death is "the problem". Of course it's a problem, but THE problem is numerous multiple murders going unchecked and a corrupt city government that doesn't give a damn in a state that would put the likes of Barack Obama in the senate. True enough, the Obama administration hasn't done anything for blacks in Chicago (Well, ok, he did give them Rahm Emmanuel) but just out of curiosity, other than promoting and voting for the likes of Raham Emmanuel and Barrack Obama, what has the city of Chicago done for itself?
Maybe it's time we quit letting the Democrats, the news media, and Hollywood picking our presidential candidates for us? They did this directly with McCain, building him up as "the maverick" just to kick the feet out from under him after he got the nomination. With Romney the Democrats, news media and Hollywood picked him VIA "establishment" Republicans who have pretty much lost any and all will to stand up to the evil that exists on the left for fear of looking like the bad guys.
Just because fun loving, antagonistic liberal mouth pieces make fun of her doesn't make her inarticulate. If you were to ever listen to her in stead of what's said about her, you'd know that.
Of course Eric Holder doesn't like Sarah Palin. Everybody knows she doesn't like lying, crooked, untrustworthy, sneaking, cheating, power mongering, un-American officials. Holder takes it personally.
Whether it's raising kids, climbing mountains or writing novels, the easiest thing in this world to find is someone who doesn't, can't or won't do what you do who is happy to tell you how you can do it better and be a better person. I think honest people would just allow J.K. Rowling to do what ever she wants to do and mind their own business.

Lynn Shepherd I've never read a single word written by J.K. Rowling. From what I've heard about Harry Potter, not only am I not interested, I hope my grandkids aren't either. But unlike some people who love a great success story but hate successful people, I salute her success. What she has done is phenomenal. There is no limit to the "oxygen in the room" as far as personal creativity is concerned. I always wanted to be a writer, never got around to it and probably don't have as much talent for it as I would like to think. But one thing I learned from the bullies in grade school... you might think you make yourself better by tearing someone else down, but you don't. You just make yourself weaker in character until you're just another punk. (or punkette, whatever) Leave Rowling alone.
Did you have to practice being stupider than a bucket of grease, or were you trained, or does it just come naturally?
Obviously corndog22 was educated in one of the under performing schools and is a product of Teachers Union bumbing down.
