Hayworth is a poor choice on two counts--one he is not the best conservative on spending (the biggest issue we face right now) and he probably will lose in the general.

If I had to chose between Tom Coburn and John McCain I would pick Coburn every time. Between McCain and Hayworth, I am going with McCain. Find a real conservative without ethics scandals.

Frankly some of this land should be preserved. Decisions on preserving Grant Teton and other national monuments and parks were met with anger but proved over time to be the right choices. But without seeing exactly what the criteria for selection was, it is hard to say these decisions were correct. I doubt there is good faith here. Rather than looking seriously at what areas should be preserved and what should be made open for oil and mineral development--we have an administration that seems committed to screwing the American people.

Decisions like this need to be done with the states. They need to be done openly.
