We have a war to win in this country. The Republicans nominated George Patton to lead the fight. The Democrats will re-nominate George C. Scott who played Patton in a movie. Unfortunately, many American voters think Scott would do a better job leading an army because he looked and sounded more like a general in the movie. This is where we are in selecting government leaders in the country right now. We select style over substance. Obama is all style and Romney is substance. Romney has been there and done that. Obama has spent four years playing the role of a President on TV.

The Republican convention has ended, and it was a rousing success. We know this because of the amount of venom spewed on MSNBC. On the Chris Matthews Flying-Spittle Meter, it rated at least an 11 out of 10.

In a desperate attempt to distract from the positive vibe coming from Republicans in Tampa, Matthews, who I’m convinced is Charlie Brown and Lucy Van Pelt’s illegitimate child, went from having a “thrill” running up his leg four years ago to having something running down it last week.
