What I Saw in Israel

I think the problem is that how we view the Jews is determined by how we view God. I think the Jews themselves would rather this was not so, maybe they would like to be viewed as "just people". But in fact they are God's chosen, and God has not changed on this. I remember before I accepted Christ I thought the Jews were interesting, but kind of odd. I didn't hate them, but I wanted to keep them at arm's length. Now since having accepted Christ, I have a special love for them in my heart. I'm not sure they want either the distancing or the special love, but there it is.

Well, even if I am pro-Israel, I think the Chosen People is gathered around the Messiah Jesus, not on a piece of real estate on the eastern shore of the Med.

Well, Kepha, that is where classical Judaism and Cjristianity part ways. The People of Israel were a nation, not a religion. The Jews (as in Judea) have returned to the Land God gave them, the only place on Earth that a Jew can fully observe the Torah. It is God's destiny for the Jews, to Perfect the world in the Kingdom of the Almighty. That will not change when the Messiah is revealed, Kepha. Jews believe God doesn't change His mind. The Torah is perfection, and God would not change it.

if there were no Jews there would never be Christians. the Jews gave the world civilization when all the rest of the humans living then were barbarians. they were the first to establish the work week of 6 days and a day of rest even for slaves, they established do not murder, do not steal, do not covet the house, the conkey the wife of your neighbor. the world forgets all of this and just keeps hating the Jews . but their greatness is evident all over the universe and they did it thousands of years ago. so of course the origins of Christianity are Jewish, and they should give them thanks for their amazing gifts to the world.

God has made a very straight forward promise to those who love or hate Israel..in Genesis to Abraham..He keeps his Promises forever. He told Abraham that He would bless those that bless him (Israel) and curse those who curse him. Me..I prefer GOD's blessings and am praying the people of this Republic will turn back to him in repentence and pray for forgiveness so that HE will heal our very divided and troubled land.

Christian theology places Jesus Christ & The Holy Spirit higher on the pecking order than a secular nation full of anti-Christs.

But what the heck? To each their own.

As President Obama prepares for his first trip to Israel, I hope when he gets there he sees what I saw.

Several weeks ago I returned from my first trip to Israel. I went with a delegation headed by Governor Mike Huckabee, who visits Israel at least once every year.

What did I see?

I saw kids, no more than 18 years old, walking down the street, waiting at bus stops, wearing Army green khakis, and carrying machine guns on their backs. One young girl was as black skinned as me.

Kids doing their compulsory army service as part of...
