My question is this: was this problem really caused by liberal government welfare programs foisted on people by a few officials? Or was there already an underlying spiritual cause, that had changed the hearts of many people so they were ready for this kind of solution? It seems that 1940 or the WWII era is often sited as a watershed date of change. I believe that this is when the universal church suffered a great blow because it had mixed an evolutionary world view with true Christian doctrine of creation, and finally the results of that mix became horribly clear when the truth about Hitler's racial purification program were made known. Hitler's ideas came straight from evolution, and the idea that people are merely advanced animals.

To answer your main question, it had nothing to do with Darwin, Hitler or anything like that. Human nature has always been what it is. It's any animal's instinct to survive, with the least expenditure of energy. Just like any animal in a zoo, as long as they're fed an appropriate amount, they're mostly content.

Unlike lower animals, who retain an inate instict to hunt or forage, humans are just advanced enough that if they're fed lies by the zoo keepers (lib politicians and media) that they are being treated well, they quickly lose the instict to survive on their own.

The theory of evolution rests on sound science, although we should not assume it has reached perfection. The real problem is human nature, which has always been prone to feel deserving and needy. The Romans tried to keep their empire together with bread and circuses and it worked until it didn't.

"Site" is a place; "cite" is a reference to something.
Dads matter.

President Barack Obama said it recently in Chicago, a city on track for 600 murders this year, the equivalent of two Sandy Hooks per month. Too bad he still does not understand that his left-wing ideology is the problem.

After the Sandy Hook tragedy, Obama, much of his party and much of the media have been calling for further gun control and advocating "common sense" measures such as limiting the number of rounds in a magazine, "universal" background checks and restrictions on "assault weapons."

But there is an 800-pound politically incorrect elephant in the room.
