I like the idea of fighting back against the ACA, but its internally funded, so there is nothing Congress can do except make gestures of stopping anything other than a few bits and pieces. Defunding won't pass any better than repeal, but repeal will get all of it including the non-medical portions of the act. That is what we really need.

Is Thinking Obsolete?

Indoctrination and ideology certainly dumb down the recipients of them. When it's all handed to you, over and over, no thinking is required. There is another cause of not learning to think though that has nothing to do with ideology. That is the ever present connection to the internet, where all you have to do is to look up an answer or a fact, and repeat it. Then you move along. Nothing to see here. To think, we have to know facts. Looking them up and seeing them isn't the same thing. It requires no thought, just a certain skill at pushing the right buttons. Even that has it's limits because you have to know that you need to look up something, 42% of the country, according to a poll out today, doesn't know that...

What the Washington Post Missed

Lets stick with the WAPO story. No one bleached their hair in the 60's, not even women. A guy who did would be lucky to be alive before he was thrown out of that school, which would forever have a stained reputation for admitting a homosexual. If there had been such a person, everyone in the school would have known about it, everyone, yet Romney's best friend doesn't. There would be far more than 4 who were aware of it. Lauber's family said the story is inaccurate. Hoevever, now that we know that WAPO can find old classmates, they should find some of Obama's and report on him. This story was written by someone under 30 who has no clue what 60's more's were, so it utterly fails to be believable.
