How about this as a money-raising idea for the libs: Take out a term life policy on selected members of the public. That alone should shorten their life span considerably. When they meet their demise, the Treasury gains accordingly. That sounds like an elderly lady who lived on a semi-remote homestead in the Southwest. A young couple bought her land subject to the elderly lady's life estate, meaning that the lady could live on the property until her demise. But part of the deal was
