What concerns me here is that President Obama is not a moderate. He may become desperate. Desperate people make desperate moves. And not being moderate implies that his moves could be much more extreme than we expect.

It's 1973 All Over Again

A significant difference is that in 1973, Democrats controlled both the U.S. House and the Senate. Today, Republicans control only the house. Without the Senate, I really doubt anything similar will result, despite the fact that Benghazi was one heck of a lot more dangerous to our country than Watergate.
Same tactics. Stall until the next news cycle, or the one after that. "A week went by, now it's July." (Frank Zappa) Bureaucrats are not known for risk taking. These so-called 'minor' bureaucrats did nothing without approval from above.

True Grit

Good article. Thanks. It is human nature. We are going the way of the Romans, although technology allows us a greater degree of comfort. Take abortion. The technology did not exist to get rid of unwanted babies without killing the mother, so they "left them on the mountainside". Our current President is a classic example of a society who has moved in this direction. We even re-elected him!
Pretty sloppy leadership if not anything else. However, the government agencies are stacked with bureaucrats. Bureaucrats do not take risks, they get direction for any major risks from above. Very seldom if ever do they stick their necks out. President Obama is a 'community organizer'. It shows.
I agree. Our republic is in danger the likes of which we have NEVER seen before.
Accusations can often tell you more about the accuser than the accused. As your article points out, this is an excellent example.
If their is only one way for President Obama, he is going to take it. Benghazi has shown that he would do it no matter what. He certainly would not stop because of U.S. interests to the contrary.
Our enemy killed our ambassador and raised its flag over our sovereign territory. And our President and the Secretary of State attempted to deflect it so that he would be re-elected. Keep pushing it back to the next news cycle so that it becomes old news. About an act of war against our country! President Obama and Secretary Clinton are much too smart to be deceiving themselves about it, except maybe that they could get away with it. And that has yet to be determined. If they get their way, this issue will be pushed back beyond 2016 because "What did it matter?"
I tend to agree in many respects. Nome of my close friends and I have ever owned any firearms. None of us (Only a handful) have ever been members of the NRA and none of us have sent any money to any political campaign. Now, all of us have done all of these things. (Exception: I have not purchases any firearms, YET.) We have all been going to ranges for practice, something I myself have not done in over 20 years. Yes, I agree. This is a grassroots movement.

Overcoming Our Fear of Islamophobia

I think that a major part of the reason why is because Islam is so large. With 1.3 BILLION, it would take a World War to get rid of it. That scares the hell out of me too. But it is still better to fight than to submit.
