That's like averaging the age of grammar school children killed in car accidents and concluding that the average American child dies before the age of ten. Not only do American gay men live an average life span, a recent study conducted in Britain concluded that HIV+ gay men on drug therapy there may have a *longer than average* life span because they must see their doctors regularly and therefore health issues unrelated to HIV are noticed and treated earlier.
