Because it further destroys the Middle Class. Remember Leona? The rich don't pay taxes. Never have, never will. Just like corporations, they pay neither taxes nor fines, guess who does? Ya think BP is going to pay that 4 billion or so they agreed to? Never happen, they will just raise the cost of their products. Sales tax revenue goes up, income taxes go up, win-win for BP and the governments. The entire purpose is to destroy the Middle Class, by giving the low end freebies, taxing the high end out of existence and instilling hatred in the center. It is a workable plan, and has been practiced by both parties, but primarily D's, and they have succeeded. As Harry Reid said when they opened the Capitol visitor center, "THEY smell bad."

You'll remember that President Barack Obama was the only candidate with a detailed plan to deal with the impending fiscal unpleasantness. And, as the president explained this week during his first press conference since winning re-election, "more voters agreed" with him, so naturally, it's time to give the people what they want.
