How can this be a "celebration of freedom" when so many are being infringed upon or outright taken away by bypassing the rules of government laid out by the Constitution that granted us these freedoms?
All great leaders have these talents and abilities - unfortunately, it is for both good the good and the evil. You could give these attributes to Hitler, who lead a successful campaign for leadership. Just because someone is a extraordinary leader and organizer does not mean he is a good person without ill intent.
He doesn't have to rewrite it, he is bypassing it and we are letting him.
So it took the murder of innocent children in a mainly white suburban neighborhood to bring such anger and actions? I guess the 500+ in Chicago don't mean much. I don't have statistics on the last half of 2012. However, the first half of 2012 brought only 11 white fatalities while 201 of the 259 homicides were African American. In Chicago, 33% of the population is black but 78% of the dead by June 2012 were black. By the end of the year, there were 513 dead and over 2600 people wounded by guns. Nothing said by this administration nor Rahm about control. Nothing. By comparison, just 11 homicide victims in the first six months of the year were white, and 44 were Hispanic, according to police data.
Not to mention the value of your dollar is decreasing. A friend works for the state as a supervisor of county parole officers. She makes $50K after 20+ years of working. Has not had a raise in 5 years. Yet, gas has gone up, groceries way up, cost of college education for her daughter up. People wonder why there is less money in their pockets year after year and they don't think it is due to taxes, inflation, and devaluation of the dollar or due to this administration having no clue how an economy works efficiently? It's like those three monkeys in a statute with their ears, eyes, and mouth covered.
Also in our education system. In Palm Beach, the benchmarks for students will be implemented based on race. Asians have to meet the highest standard, 90%, then whites, 88%, hispanics, 81%, and blacks, 74%, passing for reading. Math pass is about the same. Dumbing down the standards based on the color of your skin? Does that make sense? This will just make a bigger difference in the illiteracy and poorly educated based on race. Passing the same kid who reads at a below grade level because he is black. And guess where the majority of the protest is coming from? The Hispanic and black community who find this insulting and degrading. They are calling this racist and rightfully so.
I looked at the fundraiser site and the total amount is almost $30,000! Mr. Tarver also put aside his own safety and unselfishly helped the people who were trapped inside the tent out.
There was a woman inside of the tent that the union thugs tore down without regard of who was inside. It's at the end of the video when she came out. I didn't see the thugs look in and see if women or children were in there.
In 1964. But the Civil Rights Act that gave voting rights to Afr Americans was passed in 1957 by President Eisenhower, Republican, and Senator John F Kennedy voted NAY.
Your forgot to add the following: 1954 - Brown vs. Board of Education, passed by a conservative Supreme Court under Eisenhower administration (Rep) 1957 - Eisenhower sends the 101st Airborne Division to Little Rock, Arkansas to ensure safety of the Little Rock 9 integrating into the white school. 1957 - Civil Rights act passed with zero Reps voting nay and all 43 voting yea. Dems yea 29, nay 18, almost 40% of the party. Of the Dem voting nay was then Sen John F Kennedy. 1964 - Majority of Reps in the Senate voted for the Civil Rights Act 1964. 82% of Rep Senators voted yea vs 69% of Dem Senators voting in favor of the Act, final vote was 67 to 33. 2012 27% blacks live in poverty w/ 46% of children in poverty are black.
