Your forgot to add the following: 1954 - Brown vs. Board of Education, passed by a conservative Supreme Court under Eisenhower administration (Rep) 1957 - Eisenhower sends the 101st Airborne Division to Little Rock, Arkansas to ensure safety of the Little Rock 9 integrating into the white school. 1957 - Civil Rights act passed with zero Reps voting nay and all 43 voting yea. Dems yea 29, nay 18, almost 40% of the party. Of the Dem voting nay was then Sen John F Kennedy. 1964 - Majority of Reps in the Senate voted for the Civil Rights Act 1964. 82% of Rep Senators voted yea vs 69% of Dem Senators voting in favor of the Act, final vote was 67 to 33. 2012 27% blacks live in poverty w/ 46% of children in poverty are black.
