At the NYT Maureen Dowd somehow (wanna guess how?) advanced far beyond her talent and drive. Her skill set is modest. It would be easy to replace her because millions have her level of verbal ability. So she would not have reached a high position on a real job ladder. She knows it. She also knows she is in the wrong about 'most everything. So do the readers. No kids, no husband, lousy personal life. Add it up, it's pretty clear where she is. Second point: Try your wonderful one-liner this way: "When a liberal has to talk in public they just lie and make things up." There, that's more like it, don't you think?

Maureen Dowd is a woman of many talents. She is, of course, a New York Times featured columnist, a Pulitzer Prize winning commentator, and the liberals acknowledged Queen of Snark. Ms. Dowd has also completely blown a gasket, if her column of last week (April 5th) is any indication of her psychological-emotional state.
