Yes, the phrase "well regulated" in that time period meant "disciplined," not "government supervised." If you would read literature from the 1700's and 1800's, John, you would understand a lot more. You are reading it like it was written in the 1900's.

Gun Appreciation Day, a grassroots movement started in response to President Obama and Washington Democrats' recent rhetoric on gun control, drew big crowds to state capitols nationwide that consisted of strong supporters of the Second Amendment.
