I think you set the record for most number of pejorative adjectives in one column. You must have a lot of hate in you. But I am confused, according to Wikipedia the program is sponsored by NGA. What is your response to that? "The Common Core State Standards Initiative is a U.S. education initiative that seeks to bring diverse state curricula into alignment with each other by following the principles of standards-based education reform. The initiative is sponsored by the National Governors Association (NGA) and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO)."

If you are going to use Wikipedia as a source, your opinions and insights are worthless. Typical of public education laziness.

The key to your comment is the phrase "that seeks to bring diverse state curricula into alignment with each other..." indicating that all is right with the world when we are all alike. Diversity seems to be fine as long as it does not extend to the states being diverse enough to do what it thinks is best for its people as was the states rights concept laid out in the Constitution by the Founding Fathers. (Of course, one would most likely not find that in the new common core.)

In the new America, to disagree with King Barack is to "hate."

If you have something meaningful to add, please do. Otherwise stop trying to prevent serious discussion. Can any liberals think?

Maybe the answer is that, as pointed out in the column, states were bribed with promises of grant money. Of course, it requires critical thinking to grasp that, rather than, say, the thought processes of someone who believes "oil companies are the most profitable in the world" when profit margins for US oil companies are low compared to most other US companies or "individuals cannot negotiate a market wage against [gasp] a conglomerate" when the notion of monopsony has been disproved and companies cannot offer lower than market wages BECAUSE they must compete in the labor market as for any other resource.

Apparently, reason and research are beyond liberals entirely.

America's downfall doesn't begin with the "low-information voter." It starts with the no-knowledge student.

For decades, collectivist agitators in our schools have chipped away at academic excellence in the name of fairness, diversity and social justice. "Progressive" reformers denounced Western civilization requirements, the Founding Fathers and the Great Books as racist. They attacked traditional grammar classes as irrelevant in modern life. They deemed ability grouping of students (tracking) bad for self-esteem. They replaced time-tested rote techniques and standard algorithms with fuzzy math, inventive spelling and multicultural claptrap.

Under President Obama, these top-down mal-formers -- empowered by Washington education bureaucrats and backed...
