Better yet: Mitt makes $100 million, pays tax of 13%, and is left with only $87,000,000 Gloria makes $0 receives welfare and nets $12,000. No wonder Mitt is upset with the takers.

Let's just tax at 90% those who inherited their wealth. They didn't earn it. What's the difference between getting it from the government or from dead parents. Why should I work my butt off and have very little and they don't work at all and have everything.

That is a different issue one could argue about. All this report is saying is that low top rates don't help growth but they give the rich a greater share of the pie. Whether that is right or wrong is a different issue. I think we forget how lucky we are to be born in the US. If BIll Gates or Mitt Romney were born in Sri Lanka, I don't think they would be as successful no matter how hard they worked. They were as successful as they are partly because they were born in the USA. I don't think it is unfair for them to give a little of that back to the country that helped them make it in the first place.

The Congressional Research Service is the research arm of Congress. It is very respected and I have found their reports in the past to be nonpartisan and very accurate. This CRS report was based on statistics starting in 1945. It is report R42729 so check it out yourself. I realize that everyone with a different point of view will dismiss the report even if it were signed by God himself. Our Democracy today is based on ideology and opinion, not facts. It is all about what you want to believe and not what the reality is.

Thomas, Take a look at the CRS report released several days ago. They conclude there is no correlation between low top tax rates and economic growth. They main effect is to provide a bigger piece of the pi to the wealthy. This the confusion of a nonpartisan research arm of the Congress. Since it disagrees with your fundamental premise of economics and politics, I am sure you will either ignore it or find that it was politically motivated.
Chuck, Who wrote that for you? You mean you researched that the US has the most comprehensive system in the world for regulating international arms transfers. I don't think so. You are a tool of the NRA.

Obama's Apology Tour 2.0

Nor did Obama ever have an apology tour. But the conservative media badly want that to be the case so they continue the lie.
I agree with King. Krauthammer has lost all objectivity. For example, when he says that 3 months ago the Dems knew what the weather would be in Charlotte. He would say and think anything to prove that Obama is horrible.
The so-called job killing tax on small businesses HAS NOT YET TAKEN EFFECT. Do you really think that an increase of less than one percent on investment income over $250,000 will have any impact on anyone's decisions?
Mine was just a snarky comment. I think one of the problems with the Ryan plan is that sick elderly people are not ideally suited to deal with insurance companies.
I don't think that it works that way. What makes you think it does?
