Gravely for most of us. Dems/Libs just don't get it; the best defense against someone invading your space with weapons they're not supposed to have is to have the power of your own to deter them. I can promise you right how that if those dead teachers could talk back, they'd most all wish they'd a firearm. Not scoring political points here, just citing simple self-preservation.

First off, you are dead wrong. There is no empirical emphasis - NONE whatsoever - that suggests arming teachers would prevent violence. That is only in your own mind and the rest of the ideologues on this board who carry the water aimlessly of the NRA. Second, teachers do NOT want weapons; their job is to teach and nurture children. Third, more kids would probably get killed by the unskilled (and they would be unskilled, regardless of any training) shooting from the teacher. Fourth, isn't it ironic that Tonwhall that spends so much time vilifying teachers, schools, and teacher unions now is all supportive of them

President Obama just wrapped up his press conference with Vice President Joe Biden announcing a new gun control task force. Obama said although "no law will prevent every senseless act," the country cannot sit back and do nothing in the wake of the tragedy in Sandy Hook last week. The President said he will be taking gun control proposals collected by Biden until January. In the new Congress, he vowed to use all the powers of his office to put chosen proposals into place.
