Whiny Atheists Protest Charlie Brown Christmas Special

So what's your complaint Doug? Have you ever visited Rome and seen the old pagan temples, well you're about 1600 years to late ... after the Christians murdered those priests, they then destroyed their temples and idols. Go to Egypt and visit their 4500 year old temples and marvel at the many defaced inscriptions chiseled out by the Christians some 1500 years ago. Religions come and go, so just be happy that Christianity will leave some artifacts behind for future generations to marvel at the monuments they built and the strange beliefs they held.

Hang on, the muslims plan to demolish the pyramids and sphinx, I think that might trump you.
BK22 Wrote: Nov 29, 2012 3:40 PM
Christianity will be here long after you and your family are dead and buried...

You aren't paying attention to the news.

The young are leaving all denominations in dramatically increasing numbers. Attendance at services is down by almost a third in the last decade alone.

Your antiquated bronze-age myth is dying faster than the belief in Zeus.

In America yes, due to materialism, false pastors, public "education." However, true, Biblical Christianity has always gone underground when necessary. And China's Christian churches are growing. After B.O. and his puppetmasters take down our economy and the urban hordes riot, you may see a true revival.
McCargar Wrote: Nov 29, 2012 4:11 PM
There are almost no "true" biblical adherents any longer.

Most christians have resorted to claims of allegory where in the past, you would have been tried as a heretic and killed for suggestion such a thing.

If you want to see what old-time christianity was like, look at Muslim fundamentalists.

Your religion used to teach that stoning was the punishment for a sin no greater than working on the sabbath. Muslims still stone today, but christians don't.

Christians had to modify their beliefs as modernity crept in and pointed out the horrors of your belief system.

Sorry son more than 80% are still christian and remain so....those so-called youth always return when they discover the emptiness of seculatarism.
BK22 Wrote: Nov 29, 2012 4:45 PM
Nonsense...but keep making a fool of yourself.
erick24 Wrote: Nov 29, 2012 4:48 PM
That was Judaism. Christ never taught stoning. Actually, he prevented one. Please read the Bible before you try to represent what is in it. Humans have done wicked things in the name of God or religion since the beginning. That is the reason Christ came to earth. To save man from himself. Atheists with power have done worse, ie: Hitler, Stalin, Mao.
McCargar Wrote: Nov 29, 2012 5:10 PM
The internet is providing debate they've heretofore not been subjected to, and reason and logic are prevailing.

Your religion is dying, and that is a positive thing. Your denial will not change the accelerating trend.

By all means, hide your head in the sand as it happens.
McCargar Wrote: Nov 29, 2012 5:12 PM
Christians are not a separate religion from the Old Testament.

Matthew 5:17: Jesus supposedly said: "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill."

You can't hide in the NT by denying your religion was founded upon the horrors of the old testament.
McCargar Wrote: Nov 29, 2012 5:16 PM
Hitler used Christianity to get millions of Christian Germans to kill millions of Jews.

Nazis wore belt buckles and buttons with Gott Mit Uns (God With Us) on every one of them.

Stalin was a dictator that killed his adversaries, religious and not religious.

Atheists killers don't kill in the name of no-god. They kill because they are bad.

"Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion." Steven Weinberg - Nobel Laureate in Physics

You know. Most of your spoutings are out-of-context or not well understood. Christ condemed stoning, but that was the punishment at the time. He stopped it by pointing out the flaw in that arguement.

If you want to attack something, understand it a bit better.
sknowles Wrote: Nov 29, 2012 6:18 PM
Yes, Hitler "USED" Christianity, though he hated it and did all he could to kill Christians, but he had already focused on Jews because they have always been the better scapegoat.

You haven't been paying attention to the current medical tech.

Besides, you're not saying much. There are tiny sects still believing in all sorts of imaginary friends. That some ignorantly hang on means nothing.
TommyMaq Wrote: Dec 01, 2012 4:44 AM
Over 60% are non-believers hanging around for social contacts, cuz their antique folks still buy it, or to make sure the kids have some healthy influences. "Christians" who fail the virtues are the cancer destroying the church.

Unsupported conclusions followed by name-calling are the opposite of persuasive.

I recommend charity and humility.
TommyMaq Wrote: Dec 01, 2012 4:47 AM
Good argument against religion.

"They did it too" isn't helping your case.

Also, Hitler preached Christianity. Stick to myths that can't be proven wrong if you want any credibility at all.
TommyMaq Wrote: Dec 01, 2012 4:51 AM
You've got it backwards; he cited verifiable facts.

He said it because it is true.

Getting your cause-and-effect backwards is a common denial tactic. Poor logic = poor judgment = poor behavior. F

Don't you know your bible?

Very interesting for an atheist, who doesn't beleive, to quote the bible and pretend to understand what he doesn't.

Well Tommy, you have proved one thing...you are truely a "lardy hagfish"....

Merry CHRISTmas! :)

The atheists I grew up with in Texas were a tad bit pluckier than today’s lardy hagfish atheists who file lawsuits every winter when they see a child wrapped in swaddling clothes.

Yep, the anti-theists I used to hang out with in the Lone Star state were rugged individualists who were so busy milking this existence that they didn’t have time to bleat like a stuck sheep because a plastic baby Jesus statue endangered their delicate beliefs.

My other non-believing buddies who weren’t the robust Hemingway types were usually heady stoners who were into physics, Pink Floyd and Frisbee and were...
