Was Iraq Worth It?

So why didn't Bush just wait for the inspectors to finish, does the fact that many others were wrong excuse him for also being wrong? Following the mandate of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1441, the president of Iraq, Saddam Hussein, allowed UN inspectors to return to Iraq in November 2002. UNMOVIC led inspections of alleged chemical and biological facilities in Iraq until shortly before the U.S. invasion of Iraq in March 2003, but did not find any weapons of mass destruction. Based on its inspections and examinations during this time, UNMOVIC inspectors determined that UNSCOM had successfully dismantled Iraq’s unconventional weapons program during the 1990s!

Regardless of what was written they found mobile chemical weapons labs in the country after the invasion.

Really ... is that why Bush's own inspectors Kay and Duelfer also found the same thing, no active programs, all having been shutdown by UNSCOM inspections a decade earlier?

Do you realize the inspectors weren't allowed to go anywhere without providing advance notice and needed Saddam's permission to inspect anything? The whole inspection process was a sham. Not to mention they found mobile chemical weapon units after 2003...
Ten years ago today, U.S. air, sea and land forces attacked Iraq. And the great goals of Operation Iraqi Freedom?

Destroy the chemical and biological weapons Saddam Hussein had amassed to use on us or transfer to al-Qaida for use against the U.S. homeland.

Exact retribution for Saddam's complicity in 9/11 after we learned his agents had met secretly in Prague with Mohamed Atta.

Create a flourishing democracy in Baghdad that would serve as a catalyst for a miraculous transformation of the Middle East from a land of despots into a region of democracies that looked West.

Not all agreed on...
