Well of course we are all anti-intellectual. Intellectuals gave us the 20th century filled with two world wars, the cold war and its numerous brush-fire wars of 'national liberation', liberation theology, Keynesian economics, big, oppressive, crony capitalist freedom robbing governments, socialism, fascism, communism, and any number of other ills too numerous to mention here. Since intellectuals have an abysmal record, we prefer common sense drawn from the Constitution and free market principles. Enough already with intellectuals.

That's a mistaken perception. Did you actually watch the part of the speech to which I was refering? He was most definitely angry, lecturing, scolding and wagging his finger. It was funny to watch. The only reason for him to be angry is because he is losing the debate and he is losing face in the process. I am not the only person who saw it. There have been many comments referincing it on blogs today. If you didn't see it, I am unable to explain to you why. Nevertheless, it was there.

What we DO know is that whatever the reason ice is melting in some areas, it is NOT being caused by manmade global warming. That is the point. Overall avg temps have been declining for a decade, as 'Dr. Phil' admitted. What is the explanation du jour? That global warming means ice melts as temps fall? Hot is cold, wet is dry? C'mon man!

I didn't read any of the comments before I posted mine. Obviously I didn't need to say a word. But, I feel better for having expressed my disregard for Michael's 'theory'.

The silver lining is that the kids will know the 'rules' and as teens will turn it against the NEA, DEMs etc for a generation. There will be plenty of us who knew America when to remind them of all the prosperity and consumer goods we used to have, as did the kids when they were tots. Plus we will be able to point to Communist China and all their consumer swag produced under 'Free Market Communism'. Think the Boomers were/are a pain? Wait 'til the Millenials go Rad on the Stalinist Dems. Of course it probably won't go that far anyway.
