It was a testament to their training that they were able to not show any emotion that may have indicated what they were thinking. Maybe they were thinking of the phrase "Leave No Man Behind", and how it was ignored in Benghazi. Maybe they were thinking that if anything awful does happen to them that someone will look their parent's straight in the eyes and lie to them. Maybe they were thinking that if they ever do need medical care that the care will be sub-standard...if at all?
I agree. This was not an isolated incident...it's done all the time. It's what most of them strive for...tax-free retirement. All on the tax-payer's dime.
I also have questions about "disabled" people who retire with a disability pension...with payments for life...and then are free to seek other employment in another field. Example: "Disabled" firemen who take a disability retirement and then own and run full-time construction businesses. Or "disabled" policemen who take a disability retirement and then work as professional body-guards, full-time. Isn't the term "disabled" supposed to mean that they are no longer capable of work? If a person retires on social-security they are limited to how much additional income they can earn before their retirement payment is affected. This includes regular as well as disabled retirees. How is it that this isn't the case with other public pensions? It's still the tax-payer's dime that is funding everything.
Boehner has redeemed himself in my eyes by appointing Rep. Trey Gowdy. Now, if the RINO's will get out of the way they just might accomplish something.
This is one of the reasons that even though I'm a registered Republican, I do not support everything along party lines anymore. They've sold their souls to the devil to get votes. I am reminded of something God said: "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm-neither hot nor cold-I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked." Revelation 3:5-7.
Anybody who has been paying attention understands that this is a critical time in the history of our country. Serious issues need to be addressed. The fact that Obama can seriously consider taking another vacation at this time is not surprising. His administration is being run by the "powers behind the throne" and he only has to show up now and then, wax eloquent, (ghost-written notes and teleprompter at the ready), and sign things.
Hopefully, the absurdity of this event will be a powerful teaching moment for the other students.
"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse (money) from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years." Alexis de Tocqueville
My thoughts, also. So, what to do? Pray for wisdom during these trying times. Do our homework and get the truth out as best we can. "This is the verdict; Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil....but, whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." John 3:19-21, (part).
I agree. Your comments have energized me into getting more involved this time. We certainly can't complain about the outcome unless we've done all we can beforehand.
