Obama has a plan, you can see it at online @whitehouse, it's just those evil obstructionists holding us back from the "great recovery". The great leader is now reaching across the aisle, he's ready to put politics aside as long as those evil obstructionists compromise, don't cha know.

The PC term is compassionate conservative, or more rightly labeled, a RINO. Conservative principles and values are necessarily compassionate, especially where freedom, liberty and equality are concerned.

I will agree that the Republicans have simply been out maneuvered by Obama and his media lapdogs, up until the sequester, they appeared to be spineless. However, impeachment proceedings against Obama can only be a dream, the lies about racism and an unending hyperbole about the evil Republicans would negate anything they can possibly do to stop a full fledged Obama agenda. Just imagine gun control and immigration policy uninhibited by any opposition, think Obamacare.

You're missing the point, think colleges are going to charge more or less for tuition knowing it will just be "written" off. And will students who no longer have the burden of that loan get the wrong message about responsibility.

Budget Politics

There are many Americans who are like sheep, conditioned to move from Democrat pasture to Democrat pasture with little awareness of what is really being done. $6 trillion in new debt doesn't even merit a reaction other than "Bush did it too". And again Obama plays the chicken little crisis looming card, when it's still business as usual except for the loss of some loose change. The next episode will be a new crisis, the propaganda press will ask some out of left field question, soon after the drum beat will begin... and on and on it goes.
The Federal Government thinks that most Americans are incapable of grasping economics, so they feed them fairy-tales. The big picture is that 10,000 "baby boomers" are reaching retirement age everyday, and, sooner rather than later, they will be drawing Social Security and Medicare benefits, but, for pure selfish reasons like wanting to stay in office, the pol's resist the hard choices on SS and Medicare reform, knowing full well that changes must be made. Instead a policy of "print more money" is in effect while false budget fights over small adjustments to baseline funding distract the sheep from seeing the wolf.
Macro-financial issues? Would that be the theory of kick the can down the road. The accumulated debt is historic, enabled by Democrats and Republicans alike, both for political and selfish reasons. It's rather naïve to forward the premise that a nation can continue to function in a debt-induced death spiral without major ramifications and consequences. Borrowing 40 cents on every dollar spent is unsustainable. Only through reductions in spending, tax reform, and term-limits will we have a chance.
LBJ'S War on Poverty had good intentions i'm sure, unfortunately $16 trillion spent to fight poverty has resulted in more poverty, not less, a whole lot of people endlessly addicted to a government check. You can feed a man for a day, or you can teach him to fish for his meal, which do you think is the better long term solution.
Rent-seeking or vote buying is incentive enough for men of low character to spend for the sake of spending. The "general welfare" is either strictly defined or it becomes a slippery slope. A "safety net" becomes 47 million people becoming dependent on food stamps, while the Federal Reserve prints $85 billion a month further devaluing the dollar, all the while Liberals are claiming they are doing everything for the children, yes all $6 trillion in new debt to be paid by future taxpayers who just happen to be the children. Blind spot indeed.
Two things come to mind, "zero tolerance" seems to the common denominator in these knee-jerk reactions that result in mind boggling punishments, and, schools that are publically financed have instituted rules that run counter to the American Ideals of freedom of speech and justice. Seems it's OK to teach 5 year olds sex education, gay history and communist ideals, but, form your hand into a play gun and kiss your life goodbye. I'm sorry my taxes pay for such nonsense.

Obama’s Rat Madness

The prelude to the invasion of Iraq included several attempts by the UN to force Saddam Hussein to reveal his WMD inventory, when Saddam refused to comply, a joint resolution from Congress to invade was near unanimous. The blood of the 4,000 lives lost is on both Republicans and Democrats. Both Bill and Hillary Clinton were convinced that Saddam had WMD, based on statements they made in '97-'98. You are one of the rats John is referring to.
