Just like someone who robs liquor stores, repents, and believes that Jesus is his personal savior. He repented, which means that he turned away from robbing stores. Your skin color or your sex is almost entirely beyond your control, but your choice to rob stores or engage in immoral behavior is not. Conservatives have held those beliefs against slavery, Jim Crow laws, and voting for 150 years. It was the Southern Democrats who espoused all of them, fought for them in Congress, started a Civil War, and even founded the KKK to enforce those abominations. Reagan was elected because the other choice was Jimmy Carter, who was until 4 years ago, the worst President ever, ruining the economy and embarrassing the USA all over the world.

Of all the sloppy and confused decisions rendered by the Supreme Court in recent years, few compare with CLS v. Martinez (2010). The decision was more than just poorly reasoned. It was also based upon willful blindness toward factual misrepresentations by the defendants in the case. Justice Ginsburg authored an opinion she knew she could arrive at only by pretending to believe facts she knew were not true.

Greg Lukianoff, president of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, or FIRE, offers a good critique of the decision in his new book, Unlearning Liberty. I write about it today...
