Background checks sound like a good idea but I wouldn't trust this or any other administration to not use gun registry and background checks as a means to locate guns for future confiscation. Any argument comparing gun registration to car registration is b.s. because nobody is going to confiscate your car (despite there being more deaths from car accidents). Look at all the oppressive regimes throughout history that started with gun grabbing.

When the Senate defeated every single amendment to proposed gun control legislation last week, Harry Reid was forced to withdraw the entire bill.  An enraged President Obama made a scathing statement at the White House, flanked by Newtown parent and Gabby Giffords.  His message?  Average Americans are disgusted with Congress' callous, dysfunctional inaction, and those responsible will pay a price at the ballot box.  To which actual average Americans have...
