The Westboro Baptist church fully supports Mr. Brown's position as they frequently display their beliefs in public.

Just a tip, Jim. Before posting, it helps to have a valid, coherent position which you would like to express. It makes it much more interesting for the reader.

I assure you that the positions of Mr. Brown and the WBC are very much at odds with each other, and either would be quite adamant in asserting so. If you are so simple as to lump them together, I suspect there's little reasoning to be had with you.

Then why bother reading here?

How can you possibly assure me of what two other men believe? They both agree their beliefs should be in the public eye.

It is somewhat entertaining.

I can assure you because they both plainly make their views quite public; they are not up for speculation. If you knew then, you would not make the assertion unless you were being intentionally dishonest. Where do you see Mr. Brown stating that "God hates f**s" or protesting at military memorial services? Where have you seen WBC people asserting that all sins can be forgiven? What does "They both agree their beliefs should be in the public eye" even mean? Particularly if the views in question are so dissimilar. Be entertained - that is probably your best skill.

The principle is the same: show the world your religious views; do not keep them in a closet. I will leave it up to God to determine what is in their hearts.

All right; now I get it. So then you are an advocate of keeping religious views "in the closet"? To be fair, I kind of cringe at that phrase, but I understand what he is getting at.

There are many people today who despise conservative religious beliefs, but they are quick to say, “We don’t want to restrict your religious freedoms in any way. Just keep your beliefs in the church.” What they fail to realize is that the church is not a closet, and it is our private beliefs that fuel our public acts. Shouldn’t it be this way?
