Sort of like when the big banks were forced by democrats to loan money for mortgages to people who could not afford them. Remember?

Forced? The banks couldn't get enough of these loans ... why do you think the mortgage companies were writing NINJA loans? The investment bankers were making a ton of money packaging these loans into derivatives and selling them to suckers ... they have tapes of them joking about it while they protected themselves with credit default swaps. It was one giant money making scheme with credit rating agencies like Moody's and S&P going along with it to keep the money flowing ... with everyone figuring ... they were to big to be allowed to fail!
