Pat provides us with some serious food for thought, but, as others have noted, we must search to find the "common thread" that seems to underlie such aberrant and potentially violent behavior. No doubt there are other relevant factors that bear on this common thread (should it exist), and we must examine them all. Adam Lanza had a serious mental and personality disorder that was not properly addressed by family (and perhaps the wider community) that finally spun out of control despite his mother's best intentions. The reflexive response of gun control alone does not do this matter justice.
