If you talk about the 1900s, do you really think someone thinks of the year 2000?

If someone mentions something that happened in the year 1200, that is the 13th century, because there was a zero century.

Never in history did the people who work on such things say, "Let's start counting years and centuries today."

What did happen is that someone, and most likely numerous times, said, "Let's go back to when this or that happened and start counting."

For example Walter, when you mention the time of the 1500s, which years are included? The year 1500 is included with 1520, 1575, and 1599.

The reason this is the 21st century, is because they when they went back and selected an incident as the beginning of counts, they started counting with the zero century.

I argued this with my College Professor Brother for years, but he died before he admitted I was right.
