Some Blacks Now Have Doubts About Obama

Sorry, I wish it were so, but I think this is wishful thinking. I was at the Tea Party protest in DC this weekend, attended by at least 100,000 people. I doubt if I saw more than 50 blacks at the protest. I saw more than that on my Metro train home.
I agree that the current recession does not rival the Great Depression; but, it's early yet. The tax hikes have not hit yet. The hyperinflation that is coming thanks to out-of-control spending -- an order of magnitude higher than anything Bush did -- has not hit yet. Unemployement will continue its inexoriable climb. Then, of course, there is a pretty good chance one or more cities will get nuked by an Iranian or North Korean sponsored terrorist group. We havn't seen anything yet.

Another great piece by Pat Buchanan.

I think it will come to a head. I believe Obama/Pelosi/Reid will ram socialized health care down the throats of a country that does not want it, instead of making positive reforms that they could do. The economy will continue to decline, unemployment rise, taxes will be raised, inflation will start its climb to hyperinflation. At the same time, someone in the axis of evil -- Iran, North Korea, the Islamic Fachists, etc. -- will succeed in nuking one or more of our cities.

At this point there will be civil war. This won’t be a flag waving, bugle blowing, cannons blazing sort of war. The upcoming civil war will be fought in the shadows. The knife in the back, the single rifle shot,...
I thought Obama was supposed to bring us all together. Instead he's doing the opposite. Whites have had just about enough of being accused racists after everything that has been done for blacks the last 30+ years. The feeling now is good riddance -- enjoy living in the inner cities governed by corrupt Democrats, enjoy watching Asians, Eastern Europeans and Hispanics pass you by on the American Dream trail, enjoy having half or your males in prison, enjoy watching your "leaders" -- Jackson, Sharpton, Obama -- the half-white who was elected because he was black -- live in luxury while you live in the ghetto. Keep voting for Democrats and watch everyone else pass you by.

Republicans Get Rolled...And Deservedly So

Boortz is wrong. The public outcry caused the speech to be watered down into standard "be responsible" filler. And the public is still annoyed that B. Hussein is even wasting their kids time at school at all with his filler. Serious people are sick of hearing his meaningless and worthless words already.

I read B. Hussein's flunkie-written speech which made it sound as if he and his wife came out of the ghetto against all odds. The truth is that B. Hussein's white grandmother raised him and paid for him to go to the elite Punaho school in Hawaii after which affirmative actin took care of the rest. Michelle came from a solid middle-class family and also rode the affirmative action gravy train.

What of the notion that a surge could turn Afghanistan around since a surge worked in Iraq? Iraqis switched loyalties (temporarily) because al Qaeda turned out to be a far less pleasant occupier than we were. We were lucky in our enemies.

But the Taliban's the home team in much of Afghanistan. The dominant ethnic group, the Pashtuns, won't turn against the Taliban because they are the Taliban.

Then there's the subfantasy of "training up" the Afghan military and police (who, after eight years of our efforts, remain operationally ineffective and abysmally corrupt).

A great old soldier recently reminded me that it took us eight years to build a capable South Vietnamese army (which was then betrayed by Democrats in...

Tinsldr2, I hope you are right. But consider this:

"Pundits assume that those in uniform automatically support Gen. McChrystal's request for more troops. It ain't so, folks. Of the numerous uniformed contacts who've reached out to me -- soldiers and Marines of all ranks -- only two backed the McChrsytal plan. One of those was a close subordinate of the general's, calling from Kabul.

McChrystal's a mighty tactician and a fierce operator. But, elevated to strategic command, he couldn't think beyond the Army's minimum-violence/maximum-aid counterinsurgency doctrine -- which just doesn't work. His solution to failure? Try harder. Send more troops. He's a hero out of his depth."

The US has no real national interest in Afghanistan. Unlike Iraq there is no oil, there is no warm water port upon the sea, there is nothing made or grown there that we need, there are no trade routes vital to western commerce. The only strategic importance of the area is its ability to harbor our enemies.

Pakistan? For over a decade the Taliban harbored al-Qaeda and controlled Afghanistan. The Pakistani government not only did not fail; it was far more stable than it is today.

Bad Speech, and even Worse Strategy. More eloquent writers than I have addressed the pathetic speech. The U.S. should get out of Afghanistan. Keep a small special forces presence and use air power to destroy any terrorist camps that pop-up. Forget about nation-building, installing a democracy, or training the Afghanistan Army/Police. Because that effort will fail. Has failed. Unlike Iraq, Afghanistan is not strategic. It is not a nation. It is a bunch of Khans, warlords, tribal leaders or whatever. Nation building would fail if we stayed there 10 years. 18 months; it's ridiculous.

The only valid reason for staying in Afghanistan is that it we will damage our credibility if we pull out. Obama has ruined our credibility...
Don't elect yet another corrupt Democrat!
