A Republican/fiscally conservative Governor is not the answer to California's problems. This individual is only used as a puppet/scapegoat for the left's agenda. The people of California, or according to Mr. Will's breakdown of voters, the Independent's of California have to step forward and make widespread change to all levels of political influence in that state. School Board, City Officials/Mayors, County Seats, State Congressional Seats, Senators, etc...The whole Political Culture must change for this state to survive.

Even though I respect Michael's vast knowledge of history, he complicates the issue. The simple difference is that Democrats believe in "Equality" and Republicans believe in "Liberty". This simple truth can explain all of the complexities that Mr. Medved outlines in his article. This is the divide in our country. Half the people focus on equality for all...no matter the cost. The other half focus on liberty...freedom to make individual choices.

Thank you for bringing attention to this Mr. Bennett. I have a love of history which I have mainly nurtured during my adult life. When I was in school 30-40 years ago, History was boring and I took limited interest in it. I came away from the experience with almost nothing. I have since learned to appreciate the history of our nation and the world. I hope you achieve your goals with your current initiatives. I applaud your efforts!!

I stopped watching the other Networks long ago, so I have not been viewing your reports or specials. I have heard you on the radio, and seen you as a guest on Fox, so I have some knowledge of your opinions and concerns. I look forward to your move to Fox, and watching your perspective blossom.
