In response to:

The Real Reason Libertarians Aren't Settling For Conservatism

Libertarians have a record of siding with America's enemies. They sided with the Soviet bloc countries during the Cold War. Now they side with terrorists. All their protestations in favor of liberty, freedom, rights is nothing more than window dressing.

America, over the past fifty years, has had no greater enemy than the Cultural Marxists. Not even Soviet Communism was as big a threat to our way of life. When the Bolshevik revolution ensued, contrary to Marxist dogma, the west did not fall into line, the workers of the west did not join the revolution in solidarity, but instead remained loyal to its own country and system of government. This of course left the Marxist theoreticians disillusioned, for they view Marxism as science and the idea that the workers of the world would unite was seen as infallible. So they needed to determine what had gone wrong, and they determined the problem was western civilization itself, which is to say the Judeo-Christian culture of the west, and began to devise an ideology that would translate traditional Marxist dogma from economic to cultural terms, thus Cultural Marxism was developed and unleashed on the west like a plague, and the libertarian is without question a soldier in that army, whether he knows it or not.

"Without question?" You cannot be serious. I certainly question it. Please explain, and please give examples, rather than just talking in broad and fuzzy generalizations.

Okay then, you tell me, what over the past fifty years have libertarians done or tried to do to reverse America's cultural decline, assuming they even recognize a cultural decline?

What have they done to reverse the breakdown of the family, the explosion of divorce and out of wedlock births, and all of the entirely predictable (Danial Patrick Moynahan predicted it all, even a democrat) social pathologies that have exploded as a result?

At best, the best you can say for libertarians, is they were AWOL in this battle, but the truth is, they mostly fought on the other side, the side that was committed to cultural upheaval, i.e. the counterculture.

Agree, Paolo..."cultural Marxism" DOES need definition as much as s/he is using it here

If you go back through the posts, cultural Marxism is defined.

So the Marxist theoreticians were "disillusioned" because their theory was wrong, then they came up with a new theory to explain it. What makes you think this theory is not wrong too?

Cultural Marxism is just a theory, and the "threat" of ordinary people following their own cultural path is somehow destroying Western civilization? Give me a break. The 1% who control the military-industrial-financial-congressional-media complex are the ones doing that. Culture is the least of their concerns. Money and power are their only objectives.

Dobermite: wrong, wrong, and wrong again.

Libertarians have recognized for decades that the breakdown of the family (out of wedlock births, explosion of divorce, etc.) wreaks havoc on society. I could cite you a thousand articles in which libertarians point out these trends have harmed all Americans, with minorities (particularly inner-city blacks) being hit the hardest.

But the libertarian lays the blame exactly where it belongs: at the feet of the government, whose insane welfare schemes are designed to replace fathers with a welfare bureaucracy. Add to that the job-killing results of insane government regulations. Add to that the job-killing results of high corporate taxation. Add to that the hundreds of BARRIERS to employment like minimum wage laws, mandatory insurance, the Social Security Ponzi Scheme, and you begin to realize where the blame lies.

Dobermite, have you actually READ libertarian writings on this subject? If you haven't, check out, or, or any other of many libertarian websites. You cannot seriously contend that libertarians have been "AWOL" on this issue.

Libertarians side with terrorists? Are you kidding? Where is this misinformation coming from?

As for supporting the soviets, those are not the modern libertarians -- you're clearly confusing them with the left-leaning libertarian socialists.
