Catholic Capitalist Replies to the Pope

The Bible supports the Pope's position: “And all that believed were together and had all things common and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need” (Acts II:44-45 KJV). “Neither was there any among them that lacked, for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold. And laid them down at the apostles’ feet, and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need” (Acts IV:34-35 KJV).

The Left Learned Wrong Lessons from Nazism

Leftists didn't learn anything form World War II. Left wing ideology is entirely deductive. All conclusions Newt mentioned were derived by leftists pre-World War II, including the reference to anybody to the left of Stalin as fascist. Their whole not criticizing culture thing resulted from the left going to its Rousseau roots after the fall of communism. Rousseau had taught that science was bad, that technology was bad, that civilization was corrupting and that innocence was to be found among primitives. This is the the main reason leftists prohibit criticism of non-Western cultures, precisely because they fit the Roussearian mold of primitive.
If that were the case, then the First Amendment would prohibit the "establishment of a religion, not "establishment of religion." The mean reason is that America's founders regarded the effect of religeion on governmental affairs as harmful.
As an athiest, I have no objection to religious types celebrating their holidays. I particularly like Christmas with its projections of benevolence, kindness, generosity. However, such sentiments do not emanate from Christianity. The core emotions I observed from Christianity are mean spiritedness, resentment, rage. Indeed, during the dark ages. dominated by pure, consistent, undiluted Christianity, Christian bahavior differed little from todays Moslems in their drive to kill the infedel.
Newest liberal assault? Liberals have always opposed self defense. Pacifism is their main motivation.
Following the Ten Commandments would involve repealing the First Amendment freedom of religion, outlawing all art, denial of self defense, relegating wives to the status of property, and reinstating the six-day work week instead of five. I don't think so.
Libertarians have a record of siding with America's enemies. They sided with the Soviet bloc countries during the Cold War. Now they side with terrorists. All their protestations in favor of liberty, freedom, rights is nothing more than window dressing.
