Both parties are part of the problem. The policies we have voted for over the last 20 years need to be paid for. Part me is willing to take a 5% tax hike if it means that each dept will be cut by 10%. That said, both parties are holding everyone hostage over the tax rates of the top 2%.
I don't see a scenario where someone doesn't get a tax increase. Therefore, the republicans should get very very creative. Pass a tax increase on the "wealthy" BUT in the same bill, include provisions to cut the EPA, eliminate funding to planned parenthood, and de-fund Obamacare. Heck cut a couple other democrat programs in the same bill. THEN dare the Senate to pass it and Obama to sign it. The republicans give a valuable concession and it's back in Obama's court.
Frankly I don't think the democrats plan to keep anyone's taxes low. If we hit the fiscal cliff and everyone's go up, they aren't going back down under this administration.
In a sense I agree. John Boehner should pull a Pontius Pilate and go before the nation and wash his hands.
