Last night on Hannity, I debated President of the America Together Foundation Michael Ghouse on the crisis between Israel and Hamas. At one point in the segment, Ghouse argued Hamas, a terrorist organization, has a right to exist.
Today, Israel dropped a message in Gaza warning civilians about an imminent strike and urged them to temporarily evacuate their homes.
To the residents of Sheikh Ijleen, Tal al Hawa, Remal al-Janoub, Zeitoun neighbourhood, Shoujaiyat al-Tourkman, Shoujaiyat al-Jadida:
The Israeli military is not targeting...

Without a legitimate method of effecting political change for your people, how else do you push for economic opportunity and progress? And bear in mind, there were some American Revolutionaries who felt as though they were so politically oppressed that a violent uprising was the only way to protect their rights--and conservatives seem to be pretty supportive of violence in that circumstance.
I would argue that the Palestinians are in more desperate straits than American colonists ever saw.
Is that why they allow terrorist thugs like Hamas to "represent" them in public?
Say what you want about whether Israel's military occupation of Gaza is justified, and whether or not the Palestinians "deserve" the treatment they receive at the hands of the Israelis, it is still undeniable that they live in a military occupied area. And society in Gaza is greatly depressed by those conditions--economically, educationally, and spiritually.
You too might be more willing to support groups who strike back at those that would oppress them if you were forced to confront the consequences.
