So if I don't want to fund abortions, how do I manage it. If I don't pay taxes, I go jail, unlike our Washington representatives. So what do I do? The best thing that I have come up with that does not immediately end up with me in jail is to file a new W4 and claim as many as I am allowed to pay the minimal amount of taxes each paycheck. Still, what to do next April. Hmm. I don't like it, I do not like it at all. I have a family to consider. Jail/compromize my values? Any other alternatives? Think about it. What are you going to do if the taxes collected from you are to be used to murder unborn children? I know I have been thinking about it.
"Nothing more need be said - other than wonder why the people of Massachusetts (or as Coakley prefers is: Massachusettes) return this buffoon to Congress time-anter-time."

It is called Gerrymandering. Franks district looks like a deformed snake. We have the same problem here that put Corrine Brown in office time and time again.
I have never been able to fathom why the 48 state legislatures in the United States were so willing to hand over power and control to Washington DC in 1911 - 1913. They affectively dimantled the Republic and morphed into a democracy (Democracy is three wolves and one sheep deciding on what is for dinner). Ever since the passage of the 16th and 17th amendments to the Constitution, this country has been in decline. Read history. Democracies typically survive 120 to 200 years. We are in our 97th year of being a democracy since the passage of these two amendments in 1913. Now for the question. How do we convince people that have grown up receiving GIFTS and INCENTIVES from the federal government that we need to change back to being a...

I disagee with both of you. If you keep putting R's and D's in office, you keep getting the same results. We need new blood that shares our ideas and principles. How can you expect to get what you want if you vote for someone who is not willing to do what you want? Just doesn't make sense.
Don't be too hard on Lily. She is obviously a compasionate and charitable person. This is a good thing. She is, however, wrong about Social Security working. She may pass on to the next life without our government ever missing a single check. But based difference between what is coming in and what is going out, I will likely not see even one SS check even though I have been paying in all my life. The reasons for it's pending doom is a little to complicated to get into here. Just Google Social Security Issues and you will have months worth of reading to do. Something else that Lily fails to understand is the meaning of charity. Charity is to GIVE to others without the expectation of reward. In order to give something (time,...
Nickel, read some of the post just before yours. We will not compromise our principles. I contend that the 14% that you mentions should work to convince the 40% voting Republican. Then Corzine will be defeated.
I do not believe that there are many districts that are irremediably liberal. It is only because the people there that believe in freedom, individualism, personnal responsibility and capitolism are not standing up. We have not lost this country yet but I can guarantee you one thing for certain. Neither the Democrat or Republican parties will save it. Our next step, no incumbents from any party, any state, any district will send a strong enough message that we have had enough and that the tide had better turn.
Your 350K has already been spent. I think you deserve it, but you are not going to get it. Neither am I. The trust of SS was invaded before any one that is currently working was old enough for their first job. The Federal Government took it and redistributed it.

Even if we could get thirty new people in Congress what would be the impact? They would just be outsiders. Ever see how they treat Ron Paul? Those that stand their ground are marginalized. Others would be bought. It is corrupt beyond your wildest imagination. Ever since the sixteenth and seventeenth amendments were passed in 1913, the looters have had their way. Both parties are glad you are dreaming. It gives them more time to achieve their goals and position themselves as rulers. I only see one way for this to end and the big question will be "who's side is the military on?". They ultimately will be the winners.
