How to Celebrate the Fourth of July

The agent who blew the whistle on Fast and Furious found that he could not "say anything" - simply because he could do something!
IF Ron Paul decides to run as a 3rd party candidate, he will hand the election back to BO - just like Ross Perot handed it to Clinton twice.
Why would it be impossible for the President to "nominate" his cabinet prior to his election? All presidents have begun the nomination process prior to their inauguration, even though they cannot formally nominate them until they are in actual fact president instead of "President-elect." In the British Parliamentary system, both parties go into the election with Cabinet Ministers already named. Thus the election is not man against man, but team against team. Which team do you want to lead the nation? I believe this would be an improvement on our current system of buying a pig in a poke.

and Furious) - Eric Holder again. And the list goes on and on. Selective law enforcement makes us a where men, not law, rule. If the law is unjust - change it; do not ignore it. Peaceable resistance (a la MLK, Jr) has become justification for violent revolt against the existing social order. Such can only lead to destruction of freedom and liberty.

"Neither in this or any other issue can the Constitution protect us if we don't protect the Constitution. When all is said and done, the Constitution is a document, a piece of paper. "If we don't vote out of office, or impeach, those who violate the Constitution, or who refuse to enforce the law, the steady erosion of Constitutional protections will ultimately render it meaningless" This bears repeating - as it has application to so many things currently in the news. Things like refusing to enforce laws against voter intimidation (Eric Holder), not holding accountable those who put a price on the head of the killer of Trevon Martin (the Black Panthers), lying to Congress and punishing whistle-blowers & promoting the guilty in "Fast

cont. war, they talk only about American costs in dollars and in lives. Who considers the cost to the nations where we wage war? And who thinks about the cost to America when the wars we wage elsewhere result in terrorist attacks on our own shores?

The sad think is that in the war powers act Congress has abdicated its constitutional responsibility. If Congress had to actually declare war before presidents could take us into war, we might actually be able to have a national consensus before entering into war. What war has actually been waged with a national consensus since WWII? General Sherman correctly observed, "War is Hell." Think of another aphorism: "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions." Well-meaning presidents have waged war with good intentions. Others have done son cynically to divert attention from their domestic failures. We need better reasons than good intentions or diversion to wage war. Have you ever noticed that when Americans talk about the cost of

Caesar crossing the Rubicon with his legions meant he was using them to threaten the citizens of Rome. His assassination followed - and then a civil war that resulted in the Roman Republic becoming the Roman Empire with Augustus being the adopted name of Octavian. "Augustus" is Latin for "Great One." Any one care to make any comparisons to any of today's politicians? Octavian was the first of the emperors - and the first Roman to be deified. Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it!

"Some environmentalists won't be satisfied until our carbon footprint is reduced to zero." Of course, that cannot happen until we are dead. By the mere fact of breathing, we emit carbon dioxide.
What does environmentalism have to do with the "mission" of the Department of Homeland Security. Next thing you know, the Department of Education will be producing propaganda instead of educating kids. Oh wait! That's what they are already doing. The Department of Defense will become the Forces of Aggression. Or have they already become that? The Department of Labor will become the Department of Unemployment, or has it already???? Who knows any more what any part of our Government is up to? Except we do know about the Secret Service - and that's just hanky-panky.
