Medicare/Medicaid simply won't pay for treatments that involve high drug costs. That's where supplimental insurance comes in. That's why you don't see the real drug cost damage that ravages the savings of seniors.

More importantly, you'd trust a government that simply won't pay for those treatments .. won't pay those drug costs .. and shields Big Pharma so that those costs won't come down.

Who needs controls?
Just allow Canadian pharmaceuticals into our markets and Big Pharma can't compete much less pull that kind of stuff.
Control Insurance companies?
Sorry .. just allow all companies to compete on a level playing field in all states, and watch the market flatten out the costs.
Insurance companies hate drug costs .. that's why they hate pre-existing conditions .. the drug costs .. so it keeps coming back to drug costs.
Allow Canadian drugs to flatten those costs, and the insurance market prices will fall accordingly.
The first and foremost control we need is the free market system. NAFTA sent your jobs out of country .. so show me a legal reason why Canadian drugs aren't allowed in from a NAFTA...

Climate always changes. There has never been an 'average' climate between any two ice ages. The weather has never been the same between ice ages. Therefore we cannot use the past to predict the future.
And, since NASA has used guesses rather than hard data to drive their weather model .. well, that's not science.
And since Carbon has been debunked as the culprit in Hot House engines, well .. you figure it out.

Actually Hathaway, the top climate proponent at NASA, recently backed away because the so called science behind his stance was debunked. Carbon is not a culprit in climate change. It only plays a very minor role. Methane emissions are far more energetic in that respect.
But, when Hathaway backed off, a lot of the Greenies started running for cover .. a lot of reputations are being ruined even as we decuss this issue.
It's actually humorous watching our enlightened politicians still chirping the same tired climate tune long after the orchestra has fled the scene. But, then again, Holdron (our new science czar)is an ideologue who really could care less about real science.
Why waste a good crisis?

The Orkney Islands, just north of Scotland, had a Mediterranean climate 5000 BC. This was 5000 years after the last ice age. Our modern world is actually much cooler now than then.
So what caused that warming cycle? It sure wasn't caused by humans. Was it cow burps and sheep farts?
Carbon credits allow companies to pollute, then pass the cost of their products and pollution onto us, the consumers.
