In response to:

The Role of 'Educators'

Correct, as always, Mr. Sowell. Our history has been re-written many times, each time denigrating America and its values while extolling the supposed virtues of its enemies, foreign and domestic. Our courts have re-written our first amendment and used their power to expel God from our institutions. Somehow, though, only Christianity is cast out of our institutions. A teacher can have a Buddha on his desk, just don't allow a Bible on the desk. And don't let the teacher talk about morals because morals imply a moral authority. In fact, morals require a moral authority. So we have several generations of Americans who hate what we are and have been, who hate themselves almost as much as they hate others.

What does that even mean? That morals REQUIRE a "moral authority"? The fact that you have a moral scheme at all implies some sort of external authority, but it doesn't necessitate one. It could simply be another interpretive meme that has offered success and survival: be nice to other people, and they are more likely to help you out in hard times.

I love how conservatives assume that their "truth" is the only valid one, and then use hindsight bias to "prove" it...

Neither Communism (of any flavor, stripe and type) is any more desirable than is Nazism (of any flavor, stripe and type).

Learn history rather than illusion and fantasy.

It requires an authority otherwise it is not a moral but simply a choice, a personal value.

For morals to exist, it requires Truth.

That's not true at all.

You capitalize "truth" because you are attempting to appeal to some higher form of authority or validity. But the fact that Christians or other religious types feel validated by their faith is no proof at all. And the fact that you think you require external validation for your moral structure at all is simply an extension of that Christian or religious upbringing.

Many cultures have viewed morality as coming ultimately from within, no need to appeal to an outside source or authority. I'm not sure what makes you so sure that your conception is the "TRUTH." (see...I capitalized all of the letters. It's the super-truth, now...)

true liberal....

,,, and just what comprises this 'truth' you and like minded types believe? I suspect it is similar if not outright identical to that of hippies.... whatever feels good just do it.

These indoctrinated Americans vote for change -- just change, because they see themselves as hateful and their country as hateful. They want to punish America. They truly believe that policies which diminish America are good policies.

They laud their oppression and slavery to the government. You cannot convince them of their error because you represent the Devil -- and who will listen to the Devil.

They reject worship while never perceiving who they worship.

Many years ago, as a young man, I read a very interesting book about the rise of the Communists to power in China. In the last chapter, the author tried to explain why and how this had happened.

Among the factors he cited were the country's educators. That struck me as odd, and not very plausible, at the time. But the passing years have made that seem less and less odd, and more and more plausible. Today, I see our own educators playing a similar role in creating a mindset that undermines American society.

Schools were once thought of as places where a...
