M3222 continued.... that new rule (pro forma session) allowed for a session of the senate without actual business being conducted so that they could satisfy the requirement of not being in recess and still blocking the appointment and not having to do any work.. now you may not agree with this but it is constitutional, and in fact the Judicial giant (jking) Elena Kagen wrote a brief to validate this practice... Bush's advisors wanted him to appoint anyway, but he rightly concluded that he would be doing this against the constitution... incidently look up the senates glossary of terms.. Pro forma is defined as a senate session to avoid a recess to block an appointment.. so the senate agrees in their own dictionary that it was in session...

M3222..you are wrong... 1. the constitution gives the sole right to decide when a recess is happening to the congress, and that one house cannot break for longer than 3 days without the consent of the other house (the president does not get to decide this) so if the senate wants to leave, and the house doesnt want the house to leave then the senate cannot leave for more than 3 days.... 2. the constitution also gives both houses of congress the sole discretion to determine how their business would be conducted... in the last year of bush's term, the senate did not want to allow him to make a recess appointment but didnt want to actually do any work or business....Harry Reid introduced a new rule (as the leader he had that right) continued

You know how you solve this.. stand up and say what you think... hold a position (idea) and be able to logically defend it... also, if you have kids who are school aged, then do what you have to do to get them in a private school (I sent mine to Christian school) then when they are college aged, send them to a conservative college or university, once again I helped my children choose Liberty University....then and only then can we help equip our kids to fight this nonsense when they are running the country and the world....
