Making the World More Dangerous

Americans are in big trouble. Appeasement didn't work for the world of 1938-39 and it won't work 71 years later. Can we stand until 2012? I don't think so. Yamamoto said on the morning of December 7th, 1941, "I fear all we have done is awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve..." Will the "sleeping giant" awaken again, come to its senses filled with a resolve once more to stand up with courage and conviction and defend freedom, and or will he simply pass away in his sleep? God help us all, and God bless America.

The Right to Work

John, I'm glad to see somebody finally recognized what the states are trying to do here. I,and my father before me, struggled with the State of Washington over this issue. We were both plumbers. After 37 years, 13 of them self-employed, the state forced me out of business and an employee of the state Dept. of Labor and Industries told me they would because of my inability to comply financially with their ever-increasing licensing demands. The National Federation of Independent Business went to bat for me and other state-licensed self-employed plumbers and got some of the more onerous licensing requirements suspended for awhile but eventually the state got its way. Now I'm semi-retired, unemployed and wondering how I'm going to take care...

How Immigration Crackdowns Backfire

I suppose Mr. Chapman is for legalizing dope as well. What part of 'illegal' does he not understand? The problem with illegal immigration is that it's illegal! Why is there such a strong desire on the part of so many to make that which is illegal legal? There is good reason that the United States Code declares unlawful immigration illegal and as such subject to DOJ action. Making an illegal action legal does not help society in any way. Just because enforcing the law is difficult is no reason to stop enforcing it. If we continue to sanction illegal actions where will it end? Oh, wait, let me guess! In the office of the President of the United States? JUST ENFORCE THE LAW!
