Nearly 50% of all wage earners in this country pay no federal income taxes. Not all of these wage earners are at or below the poverty level. Where's the "fairness" there? Obama and his cronies like to talk about "everybody doing their 'fair share', paying their 'fair share' and getting a 'fair shot'. What are those who pay no federal income taxes doing that constitutes their 'fair share'; what are they paying in taxes that constitutes their 'fair share'? And what in the world does he mean by everybody getting a 'fair shot'? I'm for equal opportunity, not equal outcomes.

I’m at Hillsdale College in Michigan for a conference on taxation. The event is called “The Federal Income Tax: A Centenary Consideration,” though I would have called it something like “100 Years of Misery from the IRS.”
