What a sick joke. The government saying that business should have a "moral" foundation. By any definition of the term "moral", the U.S. government politicians and elected officials fail to meet the definition. These are the same people who exempt themselves from the laws that apply to the rest of us. Elected officials get to vote themselves pay increases, benefits and pensions at taxpayer expense. Elected officials exempt themselves and their friends from Obamacare, insider trading laws, sexual harrassment laws and anti-discrimination laws. They made it a law to lie to Congress and yet these same elected officials routinely lie to the people who elected them and to each other. They penalize success and reward failure.

American society’s schizophrenic attitudes about business could be the subject of a book. (Perhaps multiple volumes.) For example, in the months leading up to the 2012 presidential election, we heard constantly about the need to create jobs and bring down unemployment. And yet, media coverage and Hollywood depictions of business only reinforce the popular fiction that business owners are little more than greedy exploitative bloodsuckers (whose enterprises apparently exist for the sole purpose of being gouged for taxes to be spent by profligate lawmakers with no sense of their own fiscal responsibility).
