There are people upset that I compared Saudi Arabia to Sweden, saying it is false comparison because Islam is a "cult" or "not a religion" by comparing freer and less religious Sweden to more religious and and less free Saudi Arabia. Fine, what is freer less religious Sweden or more religious Christian Uganda? Uganda where there is debate to execute gays and to imprison those who don't tell on gays? What is freer non-religious Switzerland today, or the theocratic state of John Calvins in the 16th century? Do we even need to really ask?

Uganda? are you kidding? and I bet that Uganda is probably more free ( and by the way "free" is and absolute statement, there are no degrees of it) than Sweeden, the average citizen can go about his business assuming no one chops his arms, lips, breasts or other body parts with a machete. id you don't feel free to corn hole here in the USA move somewhere else

The kind of limited government, democratic republic America has always been is possible for only two reasons: (1) The government isn't the sole (or even major) source of economic and social support for its citizens; and (2) Principles, ethics and incentives other than the simple fear of punishment has been effective in deterring anti-social behavior.

That's why it's so disconcerting to learn that two big factors in President Obama's re-election was his electoral dominance among both unmarried Americans (at an all time high) and the religiously unaffiliated (also growing ever larger).
